Here is that paper on gravitational lensing I promised to those of you who said you were interested. Bear in mind as you read this that it was written not only by a mortal (although, in my estimation, a particularly clever and brilliant mortal), but by an undergraduate. The experts in our various scientific disciplines possess knowledge far beyond this. Yet we are to believe the bible was authored by a being with infinitely greater knowledge than all of them combined.
This disparity is why I left Christianity. That the bible includes instructions for beating your slaves, sacrificing animals, and murdering your neighbor for a long list of imaginary offenses and in no way looks like this document is an indictment on the book that claims divine authorship.
Anyway, enjoy. Astronomy continues to be one of my greatest loves. I hope you find as much beauty in the stars and in the reasoning that has revealed their natures as I do.
I wish I would have had time to read the whole thing. It's absolutely brilliant, and like you said nearly anyone could read it. I can hardly believe he's an undergraduate! Thanks so much for sharing!
Half way through. Looks good and understandable like you said.
Wow. That was well-written and pretty informative; learned a lot. I always forget MSU is actually really cool. Thanks for posting this.

Awesiome, but heretical. If Jesus wanted me to know that stuff, he'd have told me. Wouldn't he? He probably di,but I wasn'r paying attention.
