Ryan, Lauren, and JT, US Tour 2010
First, I seldom ask people to rec posts. The lone exception I can think of is anything having to do with Skepticon. If people rec my stuff, I want them to do it because they like it. However, I'd like to ask all readers to please rec this.
Second, you already know Lauren, but you should also meet Ryan, fellow Juggernaut and one of my best friends in the world. He has been instrumental with Skepticon and the MSU Chapter of the FSM. He's a badass who loves adventure. Here are some pictures of me and Ryan on previous adventures.

So this Summer, probably towards the end of Summer, we're going to go on a major adventure. We're going to climb in a car, pick a route that takes us all over hell and creation, pack a tent and a bunch of canned goods, and drive. Here's the deal: we want you to have a hand in deciding where we visit. Nowhere is too far away. California? Cool. Canada? You bet your ass! Texas? We'd love to meet some Republicans! We're three goofy skeptics and we are uber, uber fun.
Let's face it, we don't want to stay in a tent every night, and we'd also like some people to show us the night life of some city (got a Skeptics in the Pub or something?), or take us out in the woods, or something indicative of where you live. We'll be documenting the whole trip and we totally want to see new, interesting things! So if you'd like to have us stop by where you live and/or you'd like to feed us, show us around your piece of the US, or let us use your floor/shower, let me know! You can find my facebook page here, just log on and send me a message. If you don't have facebook, you can email me at jteberhard[at]gmail[dot]com.
This will be epic. Things we need to do (according to Ryan):We gotta drive all night and flirt with women FAR too classy for us.
We've gotta see a beach. A real beach. One that hasn't been dragged in by the truckload.
We gotta see the coolest concerts going down. Plan to intercept some cool band or rap group for a show.
We've gotta hit a couple of bars up. Seedy ones. And play pool and drink shit beer with the locals.
We need to see the Gulf of Mexico, the Grand Canyon (where we must hunt Sasquatch), Niagra Falls, the Statue of Liberty, and the Great Lakes.
Places on the map already:
1. Mountain Home, Arkansas - Lake Norfork
2. Boulder, Colorado
3. St. Louis, Missouri
4. Buffalo, New York - Niagra Falls and hanging out with Debbie Goddard and some other cool peeps from the CFI.
Possibilities (places with offers on the table to help us...many of these will move to the map pending discussion with the whole team :D):
1. Los Angelos, California
2. Columbus, Ohio
3. Somwhere in Minnesota. :P
4. Halifax and Northeast Canada
5. Seattle, Washington
6. Austin, Texas
7. Flemington, West Virginia
8. Atlanta, Georgia - Get to chill with M-Dill and her crew! Woooooooooooooooord!
9. Milwaukee, WI
If you see we are going (or might be going) someplace near you, let me know! We want to have fun hanging out with people. I'm a miserable pool player, you could probably stomp me.
Obviously, we're looking to cut costs. Any food/lodging you could donate would be very helpful. We'd love to hit Texas (Ravenna? Alex?), possibly California (Rox? Roy? Gabby?), possibly Florida (Too many readers and friends to name), and everywhere in between! Help us make this happen.

Not sure if you can get there by car (wouldn't try it) but if you somehow find yourself in Hawaii, I'll show you a bitchin' good time.
@ElliottStrange - Man, would that we could! *grumble* Maybe if we're visiting CA and can get a cheap flight to and from...I dunno. We'll put it in the "maybe" category.
JT
I have a really big couch and a queen sized blow up mattress in KC to offer. I know it isn't far from Springfield.
@Zerowing21 - One-way flights into Maui usually run $400... though, if you know anyone who works for an airline you can get a partner pass and only pay about $210
Stop by Atlanta on your trip. We'll show that Hip Hop Capital of the World how Missourians (and Arkansasians? is that right JT?) can really party ha ha.
Plus, Im bored down here and need some familiar faces. :)
If you end up in Texas, I've got lodging for you in Austin.
If you get close enough to West Virginia, I'll try to make a trip out there to meet you guys. And I rock at pool.
@Ex_Adyto_Cordis - Where in West Virginia do you live?
JT
Flemington, middle of the woods about 15 minutes from Clarksburg. I drive to Parkersburg often and that's right beside the Ohio border, so if you come within two or three hours of Parkersburg one weekend I can try to make the trip. Can't make any promises though, what with school and everything.
@Ex_Adyto_Cordis - Will add WV to the possibility list. How cool is Flemington? What cool things are there to see in WV? :)
JT
I feel like I should note, after you've gone through all of my photos. None of those critters are living with me now. In fact, I don't have any pets now. Sooo.. yeah.
@AlabasterAndChrome - I was trying to ascertain what living conditions would be like if we crashed with you, but it looks super. :)
What adventure lies in Austin? :)
JT
Massive amounts of music to be had (you should do your research ahead of time so you know what shows you want to go see) and the bars to go with it. There's Houston not far off (3ish hours, with it's great museums.), and then San Antonio (only about an hour away) with all of it's Texas history.
Also Austin almost always (alliteration for you?) has some sort of festival or event going on, so you'll just have to see what is within your time range.
As to how many Republicans there are in Austin? You'll have to go to Houston for most of those. Unless you go to the capital and meet the politicians that are all from other cities.
Flemington is about as cool as a dirty sock. You drive right through one intersection and that's the whole town. Morgantown and WVU, on the other hand, are pretty great. We have the Morgantown Atheists and the West Virginia Atheists of Atheist Nexus, both of which I just now discovered by doing a Google search. Good opportunity for me to finally join them.
@Ex_Adyto_Cordis - w00t! Hrm, perhaps we can arrange a pow wow with one of them. That sounds awesome!
JT
Hm, I'd offer you lodging, but I'm afraid you'd be incredibly bored as I live in the middle of nowhere (Salina, KS). If you need lodging in between stops with your friends, assuming you don't drive in shifts, you might want to check out Couchsurfing.org. There are some wicked awesome people on there and in my experience they've been really cool to stay with. If you do want to see Salina let me know, I'm sure I could arrange something.
If you stop by KC, MO on your way somewhere, I am sure I can arrange for food! :) WEE!
EXPLOSIONS!
If you want to stay in the DFW area, I've got lodging for you and I know all the bars. And we could go to SIX FLAGS!
