Those who have read my blog for a while
know precisely
how I feel about Don McLeroy and his cabal of creationist cretins (alliteration ftw) down in Texas. Despite being booted out of office, McLeroy is still doing his best to expunge those facts that disagree with his dogma from the Texas public education system. McLeroy himself, in a meeting of the Board of Education, once
uttered the ridiculous line, "I disagree with all these experts. Somebody has to stand up to these experts. I don't know why they're doing it." Yes, somebody has to stand up to the scientific experts about science, because McLeroy and his one-book library are far more qualified. Asshat.
Anyway, tomorrow morning another friend of mine, Matthew Laclair,
will be debating McLeroy on the radio. I saw Matt give a talk at the CFI Leadership Conference last Summer and he is like an intellectual razor. If you have a weak stomach for bloody massacre, don't tune in to the debate. If ever there was somebody I have met who carries an assortment of facts into battle like a battalion of tanks, it's Matt. Compare this to McLeroy's only tactic of lying and hoping his opponent hasn't done their homework (or, in the case of like-minded creationists, that they'll buy his lies wholesale), and you have a recipe for a defeat so gut-wrenching it could make a billy-goat puke.

i probably will forget about this but i really would love to watch it, so i'm wondering if you could just put the link of the debate in a pulse or a blog tomorrow when/after it airs. thank you~
@veronika_grey - I'm headed to Rolla tomorrow morning to give a talk, but I'll try to get it up before I head out.
