The universe is a complex puzzle that humankind unravels a little further every day - and we've been at it for a while. The pieces vary in size so greatly that it is difficult to wrap our minds around them.
Click here to enjoy a mesmerizing flash application that will help you visualize both how large and insignificantly tiny we humans can be.

Understanding is beautiful, and we are able to understand through science.
This
should show Da__Vinci that I can blog something without pointing out how religion dilutes the beauty of it.

We understand a lot more of our world through means other then science. Science is but one subset of knowledge acquisition.
People were learning just fine before science was developed.
you might not have said it but you were still thinking it lol one thing I've learned from growing up catholic is that if you think it it's as bad as saying/doing it hahaha jk
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Show me your boobs.

@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - If you think the creation myths of Neolithic sheep herders is "knowledge", then yes, we were.
Oh, that's right. BOOBS.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Ta ta's are an excellent source of milk and therefore, nutrition.
@Zerowing21 - hahahaha i love that everyone does this now. I would have blocked her by now if i were you (if i were me i already did lol) she (?) distracts from genuine discussion
That might be the coolest thing i've ever seen. It's like mindblowing. p.s. it said people are 1.7 meters but it also said a big beach ball is a meter and there's an earth worm that's 7 meters... is that accurate?
@jenessa1889 - Whoa, apparently worms can get that long. I did not know that!
w00t, I learned something! :)
JT
@TheThinkingPerson - The great discoveries of ancient peoples had to do with human nature, language, literacy, farming, family, methods of food acquisition and production, war, exploration; in short gazillions of things that science didn't get around to for a long, long time.
@Zerowing21 - that article says they can get half a meter long, not 7 meters. still, that's grossly awesome
@jenessa1889 - I'm honestly considering blocking her. Just thinking of a way to turn it into something fun. :)
JT
@jenessa1889 - I'm just reading it myself. It says the record is 2.1m long. Not seven...hrm, I wonder what it was referring to...
JT
@Zerowing21 - lol maybe it was a joke? i was personally disappointed that when you zoomed all the way out we couldn't see the flying spaghetti monster haha
That was pretty kick ass. Kind of reminds me of the old Powers of Ten video.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Guffaw! Are you serious? You're hilarious!
@jenessa1889 - Boom! Here we go. :)
JT
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Umm...each and every one of those has to do with science of some sort.
@Zerowing21 - jesus christ on a bike that is insane
@TheThinkingPerson - Sorry, but no. The scientific method is a very specific process.
Language is very unscientific and without it science would be impossible. Without a sophisticated culture science is also impossible.
So we see right off the bat that there is some basic learning that must take place before science is even possible.
@jenessa1889 - @Zerowing21 - JT almost always begins his blogs with a false premise.
Today's false premise is that all valid knowledge must come from science. That proposition is obviously wrong.
I know that having the truth pointed out to you folks can get tiresome, but if you use lies and false premises as the foundation for your arguments then you may as well be hallucinating.
You folks are so sure of yourselves yet when someone offers you a dose of reality you get hostile and abusive. That demonstrates a high degree of insecurity on your part.
Science is all about peer review. Peers are people who are going to attempt to chop your ideas to ribbons. By being hostile and banning peer critique you are admitting that you don't believe in the scientific process.
By surrounding yourself only with people who agree with you, you are engaging in delusion, not science.

JT
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - I'm just going to stop trying to reason with you. Just show us your tits. Srsly.
@TheThinkingPerson - You wouldn't know reason if it was standing in front of you. All you do is offer insults and abuse. I hate to be the one to break it to you but that is not reasoning.
Neither is making proclaimations that something is so. You simply don't understand what science is and that shows by your error filled comments.
@Zerowing21 - I continue to search for atheists and liberals who have matured past puberty. There aren't any on Xanga that I know of.
You are a big disappointment. At first I thought you were someone who was truly interested in discovery.
It turns out you're just an insecure boy in constant search of validation.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Show me your boobs.
JT
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Ditto what Zerowing said.
You're the laughing stock of Xanga, you know.
