Since I've met you, I've noticed things that I never knew were there before... birds singing, dew glistening on a newly formed leaf, stoplights.

Yeah....... while I personally wasn't a fan of his humour, I know many who were and he will be missed.  He was pretty old though, 85.

I loved the Naked Gun movies. Did you ever see the 1950s movie "Forbidden Planet"? It is a sci fi movie that can almost rival today's movies in terms of special effects. It one an award for it's sound effects which are truly amazing, even today. Leslie Nielsen had a central role in the film playing the commander of the space craft. It was a completely serious role. Other stars included Walter Pidgeon and Ann Francis. Robbie the Robot in the movie brought lovable, funny robots with personalities on the map. It's my guess that "Robot" in the corny low-budget series "Lost in Space" was a spin-off of Robbie.

Hahahaha!  I just now checked IMDB for the list of actors in the film. It lists, "Walter Pidgeon--Dr. Edward Morbius", "Leslie Nielsen--Commander J. J. Adams", etc.  About halfway down the list it says "Robbie the Robot--Himself". Hahahahahaha

Anyway, it was a ground-breaking film with a great storyline and of course, Leslie Nielsen.
