@SpokenThruScott - Sin is where the fun is at. And that's not a coincidence. It's a supremely engineered scheme. Think about it. Having sex is a sin (if a priest doesn't allow it first via marriage.) Masturbating is a sin. Hell, THINKING about sex is a sin. But...it just so happens that sex is a built-in, automatic desire. Hmmmm...
Ergo, you're always caught up in guilt, asking forgiveness and apologizing for being human!

@jmallory - Perhaps you don't know any atheists. "Sin" is a concept made up by your religion. It means disobedience to your god. The concept does not apply to any non-Christian. I hear "sin" and you might as well be talking about "the force" in Star Wars. Both are mere creations of man.

Guilt? No, not really... I mean if you feel guilty about your sins, yet you profess to be in Christ then there is something wrong. I don't feel guilty, because I trust in Christ's work in me... Up to this point and in the future. The thing is I my mind is focused on God, and I continue to grow and overcome my sins. I use to struggle with masturbation, porn, and adulterous thoughts in the past, but it's a rare accession these days. Even then, if I begin to think about those things, my trust in God quickly leads me out of those thoughts. Not that I claim to be sinless, but forgiveness is something I ask with confidence, it's not a dreadful or depressing task. But you are on the right track regarding one thing, we are human and therefore cannot claim to be on the same level as God. Why do you think it took God (Jesus, God the son) to fulfill God's law? This was God's plan all along, you ever read Romans 9-11? So yea... God did plan all along that only through his son could we please him. Try telling that to a kid in the developing world eating rubbish from a dump while people in the West have fun by overeating. Great fun! Try telling that to the woman who's husband has left her with four kids because he wants to have 'fun' with his secretary. Don't you realise that sin has negative consequences for everyone? I would seriously advise you to have a brain scan to check whether there is anything there!

What you're basically saying is that God designed you to be incapable of not sinning, to be incapable of perfection. It takes a man who is also God to be a non-sinner. God makes you a sinner, makes you incapable of not sinning without him, and then tells you you're horrible and monstrous before his eyes and you must change or you're going to suffer eternally.
I don't understand how that is a God worth loving. God "planned" us to be sinners? He doesn't sound like he loves us either.

I would say yes, although I know Musterion99 would disagree with me. She believes in freewill, I don't believe in freewill.
God in his sovereignty planned this from the beginning. and knew the end from the beginning. This ties into the meta-narrative of God. Much of scripture tells us everything led up to the messiah's ministry on earth, his sacrifice, and everything being placed under him. This includes us believing in him in order for our sins to be forgiven.
